Hvem er jeg?
Mit navn er Isabella, jeg er 28 år og skuespiller, manuskriptforfatter og såkaldt selvudnævnt side-husteling keramiker. Jeg elsker at have mange bolde i luften, men har også brugt tid på at finde ro i, godt at måtte ville flere ting på én gang - og stole på, at det arbejder med hinanden og ikke mod. Jeg synes ofte jeg har mødt en fortælling om, at du, hvis du ville blive en anerkendt og brugt skuespiller, skulle ville det med liv og sjæl, blod, sved, tåre og et løfte om at afgive din førstefødte, så det føltes nærmest kriminelt da jeg begyndte at åbne op for at skrive ved siden af. Var jeg stadig skuespiller hvis jeg også steppede om bag kameraet? Ville det tage noget fra min passion som spiller?
Jeg havde mange tanker omkring det, men jeg har siden opdaget at de langt fra havde rod i virkeligheden. Jeg tror bare, at jeg netop har fundet ud af på vejen, at det, at både spille og skrive går ekstremt fint hånd i hånd og faktisk styrker hinanden enormt godt.
Jeg tror på, at jeg bliver en lidt bedre spiller hver gang at jeg skriver og en lidt bedre manuskriptforfatter hver gang jeg spiller. Fordi jeg kender begge sider.
Jeg elsker at fortælle livshistorier. Punktum. Og det gør jeg både gennem at spille de roller, der kommer og ved at skrive karakterer der skal bringes til live.
How am I as an actress and how do I work?
I am trained in the Chubbuck technique and have used it since 2019. Most recently I’ve been working with Ivana Chubbuck herself in a masterclass.
I love to learn and evolve my skills and often try to keep myself on my toes by taking classes or attending masterclasses. Besides the Chubbuck Masterclass, I attended a Lee Strasberg and mask-theatre workshops in 2024.
I use a mix of techniques but love to apply the tools from the Chubbuck technique to make the scene/s my own and to deep-dive into my own inner work and how I can personally connect to the character. I work on giving it my most authentic twist.
I love to work like a detective with the character to figure out what kind of person this is and why they act like they do.
Being skilled in scriptwriting is something I use in my acting as well. It gives me a sense of how to play each scene according to the bigger arc of the movie as a whole.
I’m very curious by nature and always do my very best to make my research. I have a drive and passion that makes me come prepared for work and a playfulness towards the craft, which I try to bring into my work.
Who a I as a scriptwriter and how do I work?
I love to challenge my imagination and creativity in writing. I’ve always spent a whole lot of time daydreaming and it feels freeing to be able to put a rich inner life onto a piece of paper.
I always find a lot of empathy for my characters and do my best not to judge the - even when they act out of what society accepts.
I love to explore and often feel like I get the furthest into the story when I just write, and write and write without judgement. My curiosity leads the way and I try to take the “backseat” and enjoy the story unfold by itself.
I find it very giving having good people I trust as sparring partners and giving notes and I find it very giving to b e challenged on what is currently on the page and how it can move into a “better” or stronger direction.
I love deep diving into my characters and to in some way portray real life, real people and real stories through fiction. I have a love for films that are down to earth and sometimes slow paced, and scenes with more than a couple of characters to explore group dynamics and how to give each character their own life and voice.
I love working on both my own and others' ideas and find the developing process very interesting and have recently written a feature film that has just finished filming and is now in post-production.
With my background and training as an actress I find it very intuitive to write dialogue with a flow.
I use the tools I have learned in my education in script development but also use my intuition a lot, trusting that I can make my characters whole and interesting.
